Upcoming film “Omniscient Reader”; has shared a more in-depth look at Ahn Hyo Seop’s transformation!
Based on the popular web novel of the same name, “Omniscient Reader”; will tell the story of Kim Dok Ja (Ahn Hyo Seop), who suddenly finds himself living in the world of a fantasy novel he was reading. Armed with the knowledge of what happened in the novel, Kim Dok Ja sets out to save the world from ending. Lee Min Ho stars as Yoo Joong Hyuk, the protagonist from the novel that Kim Dok Ja read.
On June 10, “Omniscient Reader”; revealed new character stills of Ahn Hyo Seop as Kim Dok Ja, who is an ordinary contract employee at a gaming company. Kim Dok Ja also happens to be the sole reader of the fantasy web novel “Three Ways to Survive in a Ruined World.”;
The newly released stills capture the ordinary life of Kim Dok Ja as well as his journey of growth while fighting to survive in a world where the web novel he read becomes reality.
While taking the subway on the way back home from work, Kim Dok Ja discovers that the web novel he has been reading for over 10 years will come to an end. However, his disappointment is short-lived as the world of the novel comes to life before his very eyes. Using the knowledge from the web novel that only he knows, he will fight to survive while clearing mysterious missions known as “scenarios.”; Along the way, he meets the web novel’s main character Yoo Joong Hyuk (Lee Min Ho) as well as new companions including Yoo Sang Ah (Chae Soo Bin), Lee Hyun Sung (Shin Seung Ho), Jung Hee Won (Nana), Lee Ji Hye (BLACKPINK’s Jisoo), and Lee Gil Young (Kwon Eun Sung).
Ahn Hyo Seop shared, “I tried to portray an ordinary Kim Dok Ja that everyone can relate to, and I wanted to express how that Dok Ja matured with everyone together, hand in hand.”; He added, “Based on the judgement that the character’s setting is most important, I talked a lot with director and devoted the most time into researching the character. I also consistently practiced action.”;
