Published on June 05, 2025 at 11:53 AM

As Muslims across Nasarawa State prepare to celebrate Eid-El-Kabir, the State Police Command has assured residents of a secure and peaceful holiday, following the deployment of comprehensive security measures across all local government areas.

In a statement issued on Thursday, and signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, the Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, extended warm greetings to the Muslim Ummah, urging the faithful to use the sacred occasion to pray for peace, unity, and the continued progress of Nasarawa State and the country at large.

The Command, according to the statement, has carried out strategic deployments of personnel and logistical assets to ensure hitch-free celebrations.

The CP stated that no stone will be left unturned in preventing criminal activities throughout the holiday.

“Criminal elements are hereby warned. The Command remains resolute in denying them any opportunity to disrupt the peace before, during, or after the festivities,”; CP Mohammed stated.

The police chief urged residents, including Muslim faithful, fun seekers, and the general public to remain vigilant, law-abiding, and peaceful throughout the holiday period.

He also called on parents and guardians to caution their children and wards against engaging in any form of disruptive or unlawful behavior.

In the same vein, he encouraged citizens to report any suspicious persons or activities to the nearest police station or through the Command’s emergency control lines: 0811 269 2680, 0803 746 1715, 0703 253 2391
