Seo Hyun Jin And Yoo Yeon Seok In Talks To Reunite In New Drama

Seo Hyun Jin and Yoo Yeon Seok may be reuniting in a new drama!

On July 3, MyDaily reported that Seo Hyun Jin and Yoo Yeon Seok are set to star in MBC’s upcoming drama “Liar”; (literal title).

In response to the report, Seo Hyun Jin’s agency Management SOOP stated, “She is positively considering starring in ‘Liar.’”; Yoo Yeon Seok’s agency KINGKONG by STARSHIP also shared, “He has received the offer and is reviewing it.”;

An MBC representative added, “We are discussing broadcasting the drama sometime next year.”;

“Liar”; tells the story of a man and woman whose perfect first date takes an unexpected turn the following day when they each make completely different claims about what happened. As truths and lies become entangled, their lives spiral in unpredictable directions.

Seo Hyun Jin is reportedly in talks to play Kang Ji Seon, an essay teacher at an arts middle school. After her family fell into hardship during her childhood, she learned it was more important to detect others’ lies than to live honestly herself. Though she initially sees Min Jun Ho as just a polite parent, she gradually opens her heart to him.

Yoo Yeon Seok has reportedly been offered the role of Min Jun Ho, a cardiothoracic surgeon with a kind personality, handsome looks, good physique, high intelligence, and strong intuition—essentially the perfect man. Having lost his wife, he is raising his middle school son alone when he meets his son’s teacher Kang Ji Seon and feels his heart flutter for the first time in a long while.

If confirmed, this would mark Seo Hyun Jin and Yoo Yeon Seok’s first drama reunion in approximately eight years since SBS’s “Dr. Romantic,”; which aired from 2016 to 2017. The pair previously won Best Couple, Excellent Actor/Actress in the Genre Drama category, and Best Kiss Scene at the 2016 SBS Drama Awards for their performances in the series.

Stay tuned for more updates!
